Tachi 真田氏 (Waist)

Recreated by Nomino Heavy Industries' Historical Branch Division, this functional replication of a 16th century Japanese "Tachi" is larger than its gilded derivative and has been fitted with proper ito-wrappings alongside a menuki and 2 "mekugi" pins instead of 1 for added safety. 

Being the precursor of the more common Katana, Tachi tend to be longer and more curved, as well as being worn with the edge facing down instead of up. This one has been decorated with a look more true to its time, incorporating a full rayskin grip, gold inlays and a "mimigata" hamon temper line on the blade accompanied by a decorated "Tsuba" (handguard) inlayed with the clan "Rokumonsen" of the Sanada clan.
