SYNOPSIS: By the late eighteenth century, France's once uncontested diplomatic immunity and reputation of refined cultural splendor had entered decay. Starkly divided among its social classes and ruled by an increasingly unpopular sovereign, the France of the Sun King's era has nearly disappeared. In recent years, however, everything has shifted beyond the halls of the prestigious Palace of Versailles. Yet, an alliance with France's long-time rival, Austria, may hold the key to preventing the nation from becoming entirely unrecognizable, restoring it to some semblance of its former glory.
