I needn't tell you that a regiment is more than just men on horses. It is the glued-together effort, the care and love and courage of thousands of people. Of men and women who have built it, and fought for it, and died for it. This regiment is the soul of our country. And if, in the days to come, some of us fail or falter, the regiment will go on. And we’ll ride with it, and give it life and spirit and hope. For wherever the regiment goes, there will be the heart of the Union Army Cavalry.
