The Galactic Empire, also known as the New Order, was established by Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine in 19 BBY. The Empire was founded to abolish the ineffective ways of its governing predecessor, the Galactic Republic, and the corrupt ways of the Jedi Order. The Empire serves to ensure peace and security is spread throughout imperial systems and will do so for an eternity.
