Following the conclusion of WWI the Kingdom of Poland remained, and did not transition into a republic. The House of Wettin-Warszawa was chosen to ascend to the throne to increase relations with Great Britain & Germany. With the Polish-Soviet War of 1920 won, the interwar period is a time of militarization for Poland. By the time of 1939 over 1 million men have signed up for the Royal Army.
