The United States Mint Police is a law enforcement agency that serves as a subdivision of the Department of the Treasury. The Mint Police have the primary responsibility for the protection of the U.S. Mint in major cities, and also for protecting life and property, preventing, detecting, and investigating criminal acts, collecting and preserving evidence, making arrests, and enforcing Federal and local laws. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ The Mint Police are under direct control of the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.
