House Targaryen is a noble family descending from the Dragonlords of Old Valyria. They were the only house to survive the doom of Valyria, fleeing to the island of Dragonstone after Daenys the Dreamer recieved a dragon dream of Valyria's impending doom. The Targaryen's remained on Dragonstone until Aegon the Conquerer began his conquest in 2 BC, eventually becoming the first King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men.
