Just because they appear at the end of No Mercy run doesn't mean they're responsible for it. Chara was confused. When YOU selected [FIGHT], YOU corrupted them. You taught them that killing is the right thing to do. You taught them that Asriel, their BEST FRIEND, betrayed them by not killing the humans. The soul colors on Chara's sweater stand for "Kindness" and "Justice." Chara is Undertale's last attempt to punish you for killing everyone and they shouldn't get blamed for it.
