Following the Greater Poland Uprising of 1806 and the Treaty of Tylza in 1807, Prince Poniatowski embarked on the greatest challenge of his career and undertook the re-organization of the Polish Legions of the Revolutionary Period and transformed them into the Polish Army of the Duchy of Warsaw.
