Canadian and American officials struggled to pursue the industrialization and establishment of Northern, Western Canadian territories and Northwestern American states. Disaffected officers seceded the region through legislation, as disgruntled merchants and settlers sought for a strong and focused leader to take them out of rather dark and bitter times.
