The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, performs precision aerial maneuvers demonstrating the capabilities of Air Force high-performance aircraft to people throughout the world. The squadron exhibits the professional qualities the Air Force develops in the people who fly, maintain, and support these aircraft.

The missions, objectives and goals of the Thunderbirds can be summarized in one word: ambassadors. The team is a group of traveling spokespersons for the Air Force. Performing at public venues tells the Air Force story, often to people in communities that have little interaction with America’s military. The Thunderbirds bridge that gap by being America's "Ambassadors in Blue."
