"Ireland, through us, summons her children to her flag and strikes for her freedom." 
The Proclamation of the Irish Republic, issued on April 24th, 1916, brought with it a sudden uprising centered in Dublin and headed by the Irish Volunteers and Irish Citizen Army. This "Easter Rising" set forth a series of events culminating in the Irish Civil War and the establishment of an Irish Free State in 1922. 

Mainly portraying the Irish Volunteers and derivative organizations from 1914-'23.
