THE ROYAL NAVY The Royal Navy, founded by Henry VIII in the 16th Century AD, has stood the test of time as the most formidable naval force. In the early days, the Royal Navy was often out shadowed by its' French and Dutch neighbors but would rise to become the world’s leading navy by the mid-1700s. The British secured their dominance over the French and hegemony over the British Empire at the Battle of Quiberon Bay in 1759. When Revolutionary and Napoleonic France rose to power they proved their superiority again at Cape St. Vincent, the Nile, Copenhagen, and Trafalgar from 1797-1807. Now the Royal Navy faces a new challenge. It must maintain a hold over the colonies in Canada and the Caribbean from traitorous Americans, while still keeping the mighty French Empire at bay in Continental Europe. Will you answer His Majesty’s call, and join the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen? NAVAL STAFF First Naval Lord: Vitalicus Second Naval Lord: Hypericus
