WW2 Norwegian Luminous Marker R.L.I. - Glowing

WW2 Luminous marker created by the Canadian company "Radium Industries Limited."
This version glows, the other is burnt out.


These RLI pin-on badges were only used by the Norwegian paratroopers who went in to destroy the heavy water facility the Germans held so dear. (Watch the TV series “The Heavy Water War“)
These markers were MUCH brighter than other markers (think U.S. markers) meaning they included a LOT more Radium-226(88) in the paint mixture. This was because they ditched in the snow on skies and had to ski quite a distance, you could make out the glow from approximately 100 meters away easily.
These things are so hot they max pretty much every geiger counter.


These all featured a pin style clip on the back, and had holes for use with string instead.
This is designed for the British Mk.II helmet, but I designed it to also fit snug on the M2 helmet.
