Hooded Lord Series is a small set of limited unique (Limited U) hats that resemble popular characters from the Mortal Kombat series, such as Noob Saibot. Throughout the article we'll dive into each of the hoods while noting some facts that may surprise you!

Hooded Spacelord

Description

History

Hooded Spacelord is the first of the 3-part series. It was uploaded on the 14th of October, 2011, and released during the 2012 April Fools Hack. It had a selling price of 21 Robux and had a stock of 55 copies.

Currently it only has 43 available copies; this is due to Hooded Spacelord being available during a time period where owners of a specific accessory could delete items including limiteds, from their inventory. This means that the missing copies are deleted entirely from the platform.

Hooded Spacelord was affected by the April Fools hackings of 2012; it was released early and named "Noob Hood" , since the hat closely resembled Noob Saibots mask from Mortal Kombat 9. The Texture and Mesh are both still named Noob Hood to this day.

Hooded Frostlord

History

Hooded Frostlord is the second in the series and it was created by a user named Errorless. Hooded Frostlord was uploaded on the 28th of November, 2013, and was featured in the 2013 Black Friday Sale with a selling price of 50,000 Robux.

At the time, this hat caused controversy in the community because:

It was the first Retexture of the series, and some of the original owners of the Hooded Spacelord complained about it possibly ruining the demand of their item.
When Hooded Frostlord was released, it was one of the most expensive retextures ever uploaded at the time; back in 2013, 50,000 Robux was considered a significant amount, and many people were upset and disappointed.

For those reasons, the Hooded Frostlord had a hard time selling out, and the item's trade value was rocky when it finally did.

A little known fact is that it's original name was meant to be Assassin of the Cold Abyss!

Old Comments

Hooded Firelord

History

Hooded Firelord is the third and final installment of the series and was uploaded to the platform on the 1st of February, 2014. Hooded Firelord was able to purchased during a Timed release for the 31st of December, 2014. With a stock of 55 copies and a selling price of 100,000 Robux, it was clear that not all would sellout during the given timeframe. Due to multiple reasons only a total of 30 copies were sold from the stock of 55!

Why Didn't Hooded Firelord Sell Out?

Hooded Firelord was unable to sell out before the timer ended, leaving it with only 30 sold copies, and making it the rarest out of the series.

The list of issues

It was overpriced! Upon release, many people complained about the price of this hat because it was far too high to justify buying. Public outrage was a driving factor in the lack of sales.
Being nicknamed "The Cheeto Hood" wasn't a good look. Many people immediately noticed a significant lack in re-texture quality and general visual appeal, garnering the interesting and comical nickname mentioned above. You can easily see where the name came from; the color scheme made it by far the worst looking in the series.
It wasn't seen as profitable whatsoever. With a massive buy-in price and being an unsavory fashion statement for your head, there wasn't really any room for profit in the eyes of investors and traders.

Conclusion

Over the years the Hooded Lord series has aged extremely well and is increasingly rare to this day. It is an interesting series that has existed throughout Roblox's history and unfortunately been buried by the many more prominent Limiteds in the catalog, to the point that many don't even know about it.
